Ms. Leona Lionheart’s Wisdom on Facing the Inner Beast with Compassion

# Journal Log #17

Greetings, brave soul. My name is Ms. Leona Lionheart, The Courageous Lioness of Wakefuli. In each of us lies a wildness—raw, instinctual, sometimes fierce. It is not to be silenced or suppressed, but gently met and wisely understood.

With every step forward in your inner world, you will encounter your animal self. This part of you may be restless or impulsive, often protective, but sometimes reactive. My gift to you today is the gentle truth: you do not need to fight it. You are not at war with your instincts. Rather, you are here to listen, learn, and lead—with tenderness and strength alike.

The Quiet Strength of Gentle Observation

It takes courage to pause and look within when you feel the urge to run, react, or shut down. But the moment you observe rather than resist, something shifts. Instead of battling your fears, you can sit beside them. You can meet your anger with presence, your sadness with kindness, and your fears with steady breath.

This is not about controlling yourself through pressure. It is about choosing trust over resistance. I learned to greet the lion within not as an enemy, but as a part of me that longs to feel safe, heard, and respected.

Befriending the Wildness Inside

When I made peace with my inner beast, it softened. When I gave it room to stretch and breathe in moments where expression is safe and true, it no longer stormed through my life without warning. The more I listened, the more I trusted them. And together, we began to live in harmony.

This friendship does not look like dominance or obedience—it is not about taming through force. It is about balance. Your wildness is not meant to be your shadow. It is meant to walk beside you, grounded and free.

Practices to Nourish Courage and Calm

Here are some gentle practices I hold close and offer to you:

🪴 When you feel triggered, pause.

Breathe into the belly. Let your breath anchor you. This is how we begin to soften the automatic responses of fight, flight, or freeze, and learn to respond from calm rather than reactivity.

🪴 Give your body movement each day.

Let it stretch, shake, or still—whatever it needs to release old tension. Your body carries the weight of unspoken stories. Let movement help those stories move through.

🪴 Sit in stillness, just five minutes a day, and place one hand on your heart.

Let yourself feel without fixing. This is not about controlling your emotions, but about letting your inner animal know it’s safe to be felt.

🪴 When strong emotions arise, ask kindly: “What are you trying to protect?”

And listen. Often, behind the sharpness of anger or fear is a small part of you guarding something tender. Offer it compassion instead of judgment.

These are acts of loving care toward the animal within you.

Soft Power: The Way of the Lioness

True strength isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s found in soft eyes and a steady breath. It is seen in your willingness to forgive yourself and others. It is felt in your choice to rest rather than push, to speak with kindness rather than force.

Each time you respond to your instincts with compassion rather than fear, you create new trust within. You become the steady guide your wildness needs. This is not weakness. This is grace.

A Little Lioness Wisdom for You

“My dear one, courage isn’t the absence of fear—it is the quiet knowing that fear does not need to lead. When you meet your instincts with love, they will rise to protect what matters and rest when you are safe. Your wildness is not something to overcome. It is a part of the strength you’ve always had.”

Until We Meet Again

Walk gently with yourself today. You are not here to conquer who you are, but to understand it with clarity and care. When you embrace both your wildness and your wisdom, you awaken a strength that roars not with force, but with peace.

With heart and paw,

Ms. Leona Lionheart, The Courageous Lioness 🦁
